CPMS share experience at Lean Construction Institute summit

6 December 2017

The thinking behind the lean philosophy can be applied at any stage in the project delivery cycle from concept to construction, just like the CPMS approach. During concept stage lean advocates modularisation of building components and onsite fabrication to reduce transportation and handling waste. During construction phase lean promotes better control of construction outputs utilising techniques like visual management and last planner approach. This approach can be seen through our management of the Great Eastern Overhead Line Renewal Project.

Two senior CPMS staff members attended the summit to share our experience of streamlining project management at every stage of the delivery cycle.

Darryl Gent, CPMS Project Manager said: "The two day submit had many highlights and we noticed a lot of crossover with our CPMS approach. We got involved in some fantastic training exercises, the team really took on board the value in a lean approach"

Robert Wade, CPMS Senior Commercial Manager said: "Its great to see how engagement with industry groups like the Lean Construction Institute (LCI) can help develop the construction industry through collaboration and sharing of best practice. The CPMS philosophy of simplifying the complex fits with the LCI drive for value and minimising waste"
